Gabe mentioned Choccolocco mountain for the next trail ride. Who might be up for this? The only Saturday I  can go in July is the 12th. It's easier to get to than Mountainside and just a few more miles than Morris Mtn.

Yes, the July ride is Choccolocco mountain, but I think the weekend is scheduled for the 19th.

The site says "We have trails ranging from mild to extreme rock crawling courses."  but not much other info.  Can someone go into more detail please?  Setup like Tellico or the others (RR, MM & Mountainside)?

Yep, like Paul said, this will be our ride for July.  I don't really have any information for anyone, but will try to have something by the end of the week.  It's out towards Morris Mountain.  We were going to try and pre run it before then, but I don't know if we will have enough time.

According to Bob (the owner of Mountain Side Off-Road) they have 450 acres and over 100 trails to ride. I think we will be OK, Smiley

Now put it in context of trying it in a small rig.  I don't want to waste my time or anyones else.  Is this a place you would attempt on 30's and open/open?  Are there multiple lines or are you always dedicated in trying stuff possibly not doable for little guys?  I don't mind winching but if that is all I'll be doing then ti's a waste of time.

So making it simple if you where wheeling my XJ would you attempt it?

Well,

You made it up Full Throttle.........I know me and JJ didn't the first time out there, so that may be a loaded question.

Good point and I'm sure someone will say if I were wheeling your XJ I'd do it....just to see me attempt and give a show or some carnage to talk about.  fart  So I agree it is a loaded question!  My point is I don't want to hold up the group by having to winch all day.  So only have attempting a few trails at tellico it really isn't enough for my head to make a judgement call on so I'm seeking more input...... drunken_smilie

It's sort of like setting at the top of the hill at RR with water at the bottom and a huge hill climb ahead and asking did everyone do this, and Ryan saying just pin it BMan you'll be ok.......so I asked more questions so I can make a better call.......how deep is the water........

So as Johnny 5 would say, "More input"   happy1

That is very true.  I may check some other forums, see if I can get us some more info.

How appropriate....how deep is the water!!

I know the post links are just talk, but all I could find.  I think I will make the trip.  With the price of gas it would be worth hitting Mountainside if it doesn't play out at Choccolocco.  Even with paying to get into both, it would be worthwhile to me after driving that far!

OK I've done enough research to say I'm out on this one.  Might change my mind for next time depending on upgrades and pics/reports from this ride.  Have fun and be safe guys!  Take plenty of pics/movies!

Keep in mind.  The worst/best (depending on your point of view) videos make it out first.  It says "Tellico" type trails.  This tells me the group would be split in the routes they take.  Also, you are asking for more info from a group that has never been there. dontknow  Maybe it should be listed as a scouting trip instead of club ride.

I would be up for a day trip up friday 4th of july weekend or the sunday afterward.  Have to work saturday.  I may not be able to make the trip on the 19th but would be willing to go scout and shot video the weekend of the 4th.

Good points and I agree.  I'll wait for the "FULL" reports to come back after the ride.
